Abstract
In this paper, entitled
“Symbolism in The Scarlet Letter by
Nathaniel Hawthorne”, the writer would like to discuss the symbolism of the
novel. The purpose of this writing is to analyze the symbolism of the novel.
The writer uses symbolism theory and close reading method. The novel consists
of symbolism, character, setting, theme, point of view, plot, etc. The most
interesting aspect in this novel is symbolism.

Dalam makalah yang berjudul
“Symbolism in The Scarlet Letter by
Nathaniel Hawthorne”, penulis ingin membahas tentang simbol dalam novel
tersebut. Tujuan penulisan ini adalah untuk menganalisis simbol yang ada dalam
novel. Penulis menggunakan teori simbol dan metode membaca cermat. Novel
terdiri atas simbol, karakter, seting, tema, sudut pandang, alur, dan
lain-lain. Aspek yang paling menarik dalam novel ini adalah simbol.
